Organization: Seeds of Hope Tanzania
Duty station: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Duration: Two years contract with possible extension upon satisfactory performance.
1. Background of Seeds of Hope Tanzania (SoH)
SEEDS
OF HOPE (SoH) Foundation is a membership non-governmental organization
that was established to perform various functions with a focus on
empowering the Tanzanian community in the areas related to sustainable
energy, health, education, poverty reduction and environmental
conservation. SoH was registered on 28th July 2006 under
Non-Governmental Organization Act (NGOA) No. 24 of 2002 with a
certificate of Registration No OONGO/1519. SoH wants to see a Tanzanian
community free from poverty and inequalities
2. Purpose and Scope of the Organisation Coordinator
The
Organisation Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination of
activities within SoH, providing strategic advice, monitoring and
management support, develop and ensure effective use of reporting
mechanisms, coordinate donor relations on behalf of SoH and undertake
fundraising initiatives. The Organisation coordinator specific
responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare submissions for awards to different funding opportunities in relation to the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Coordinate timely implementation of all activities in the organization including ongoing projects.
- Daily financial management of donor resources in accordance with the approved budget.
- Manage and reconcile organization finances.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to stakeholders and donors on developments and progress within projects and other activities within the organization.
- Ensure adherence to administrative, project management and financial rules and regulations.
- Maintain accurate filing systems covering all project activities including contract agreements with implementing partners, monitoring and evaluation reports, and photographic evidence of outputs, among others.
- Coordinate project procurement and logistics activities with administrative support personnel.
- Support information dissemination of activities and advocate for the organization among key stakeholders.
- Supervision of subordinates.
- Coordinate stakeholders meetings.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
3. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education
- First Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related studies
- Masters degree will be a distinct advantage
b. Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in project implementation, donor liaison, operations, administration, or related functions
- Experience in preparing reports to donors and clients, and coordinating the compliance to grant requirements .
- Experience in monitoring, control and evaluation of projects.
- Excellent command of both oral and written English and Kiswahili.
c. Key Competencies
- Good communication (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Have excellent analytical and writing skills.
- Be results oriented and able to meet strict timelines for outputs.
- Be able and willing to travel and work in remote areas in challenging circumstance.
- Be a self-motivated, versatile and adaptable to different cultures and people.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel), email/internet, and ability to operate other Information Management/Database software is highly desirable.
- Experience in providing assistance and support in evaluation and performance monitoring.
